COMMISSION ON WORSHIP

“Liturgy is the summit toward which the activity of the Church is directed; it is also the fount from which all her power flows.” (Sacrosanctum Concilium no. 10, CCC no. 1074)
I. NATURE AND PARAMETER
The Diocesan Commission on Worship is the body responsible for the proper implementation of liturgical norms and policies and shall look into the preservation, enhancement and promotion of liturgy to all sectors of the diocese. Specifically, it has the following tasks:
*Defining the parameters of the work involved in liturgy in relation to other church-related tasks;
*Formulating a Manual of Operations (with a corresponding organizational chart) wherein the various roles, duties and responsibilities shall be defined to effect efficient and effective delivery services;
*Identifying the offices, groups and organizations involved in the liturgical ministry as well as specifying their definite roles and functions in the whole schema of the evangelization process; and
Formulating systems and procedures as well as basic policies that will govern the program-
planning, monitoring, evaluation, funding and re-planning of liturgical activities on a continuing
basis.

It has the following purpose:
General Objective:
To promote full, conscious and active participation in all liturgical celebrations in the Diocese
Specific Objectives:
To draw up official liturgical program in accordance with promulgated synodal decrees;
*To give guidelines and facilitate the implementation of the program
*To undertake training and on-going formation of members of the liturgical ministries and Church mandated organizations related to worship and devotions;
*To disseminate norms and policies, updated instructions and promulgation pertaining to liturgy and offer guidelines for their proper implementation;
Areas of Concern:
*The Eucharist and Sunday Liturgy in the absence of a Priest
*Other Sacraments
*Liturgical ministries (e.g. EMHC, LeCom, Altar servers, music ministry, mass collectors, MBG, etc.) and Devotions, particularly the various Church mandated organizations (CMOs) related to
devotional practices and worship, e.g. Adoracion Nocturna, Apostleship of Prayer,
St. Joseph, St Lorenzo Guild and Marian organizations/movements, etc.
